wooo melodramatic! the reason I said it was I didn't realise I could get a windows 11 download. I do see your point though - I would possibly be dragging across any issues from windows 10 I presume is why you say this?
this is great. good to hear from a success story! makes me feel more confident - I will give it a go as soon as I get a chance
many thanks for your advice
that does seem like a straightforward solution but would I need drivers etc for the laptop. so maybe I need the PCS recovery image as you say. I willl try that first I think. As I am putting all this on a seperate partition it should be safe enough to try
update: just in case anyone's...
I always run windows updates as they came out. However I wasn't aware thatI manually had to search for and install optional updates - I will have a go at that now thanks.
I suppose bloatware is a subjective thing but I like to disable cortana, remove people, bingnews plus quite a few more...
I think you're being a bit over sensitive and in turn a bit rude yourself. I stated my reasons for my belief it's not the software. Of course I could be wrong. My main issue with your solution was the configuration of windows being an issue. As I said already this is an extremely complex issue...
this laptop is < 1 year old. I would expect to go at least a year without needing servicing. are we in such a throwaway society that we can't expect that
I know and appreciate you're trying to be helpful but "windows isn't configured properly" is such a general idea of a fix - what's...
thanks very much.trying t create account in EA now...apparently it has technical difficulties! will leave to get on with admin I've been putting off too long!
thanks for that. a bit confused now between EA / xbox and steam  are they all seperate platforms or do they run on each other? also EA is on a sub can I just try for a month and then cancel? don't want to be tied into a year's sub as I don't generally have a lot of time to play games
new news to me - will have a look - currently bogged down in personal admin again
while I'm back in PCS have informed me I can use the game pass on any compatible device as long as I log into the same MS account
also anyone know where I can play some old skool retro games e.g. tekken...
yes I was aware of that. trying to find a solution that converted usb output to ac safely - I have asked PCS - let's see what they say - probably same as people here - don't mess with it!
found this on ebay but nervous about using. my laptop transformer says 45w input and this can do up to 65w. not sure about whether this is safe but apparently more important to get >= 65w or laptop won't charge
I need to do more research but would welcome any input from anyone who's gone down...
I have recently purchased an ultranote (specs below).
initially I was happ with battery life but now I find that it's just a little too short for me.
I would like to get a power bank that can charge my laptop so presumably needs ac output (I'm clueless with electricity so bear with me!)
I...
