Thanks for the help on this, I deleted the driver and reinstalled and everything started working as expected. Now I just need to work out how to get the RGB lights working as they're currently stuck blue and I can't find how to change them

I'll do some tweaks and see. It would be good to have an idea if what I should be expecting with this setup

Turned off in game and get about 80fps at 1080, which is still a bit below I expected based off of others 1440p results

Is dlss and ray tracing options inturn off in game?

Yes. One of the first things I did.

Machine arrived today, eagerly downloaded Mechwarrior 5 from Xbox for PC. At 1080p with Gforce recommended settings, I am getting 42 fps and massive drops. Others with similar hardware are getting 120+! Any idea what might be wrong?
