I've never done this before, so I'm a fair bit oblivious. What would be the most reliable way to transfer 50+GB of data from my old laptop to my new one once I get it? I was reading about USB memory sticks, but then I read about "failure rates" and incompatibilities!

I was just curious as to whether there are any advantages to getting a processor higher than 3610QM aside from the slight (and unnoticeable?) boost in processor power. Might there be any differences in CPU heat and the % of failure, for example?
